How to Switch Between Cameras and Microphones in the Cloudica Desktop App
Why This Matters
If you have multiple cameras or microphones connected to your device, Cloudica™ allows you to choose which one to use for presence monitoring. This ensures you're using your preferred hardware without needing to restart the app.
What the Devices Are Used For
Camera
- Captures periodic snapshots (usually every minute) to confirm the Remote User’s presence.
- Helps maintain accurate time tracking during active work hours.
Microphone
- Detects ambient sound when your device becomes idle (no mouse or keyboard activity).
- If sound is detected, it prevents auto-logout, recognizing that you’re still present (e.g., in a call or speaking aloud).
Note: The microphone is only used to detect sound — it does not record or save any audio.
How to Switch Camera or Microphone Devices
1. Open the Cloudica™ Desktop App.
2. In the Menu Bar, click File.
3. Choose either:
- Camera: to select a different webcam.
- Microphone: to choose another audio input device.
4. From the list, select the device you want to use.
No need to restart — the app immediately switches to your selected hardware.
Tips
- Ensure the device is connected and recognized by your computer before switching.
- If the device doesn’t appear in the list, try reconnecting or restarting your system.
